Kingston, Jamaica — The cards are in the air and the stakes have never been higher. Acropolis Gaming Lounge, operated by Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), is pleased to announce the launch of its first-ever Acropolis Poker Tournament, a dazzling, high-stakes invitational that’s set to become the most talked-about gaming event this year.
The inaugural tournament will see eight elite players take their seats: four of Acropolis’ top-performing poker minds and four local celebrity poker personalities, all ready to shuffle up and deal in a battle of skill, nerve, and high-level gameplay.
“We’re very excited to bring this poker tournament to Acropolis. This is the type of event that adds an extra dose of excitement to the gaming scene and gives both fans and players something to be excited about. This is Acropolis redefining what poker can be in Jamaica,” said Dwayne Tulloch SVP Retail and Customer Operations at SVL. “Our vision is to build a poker scene that’s fun, vibrant, and worthy of the talent that exists here.”
At the tournament debut set for Friday May 30, each player will receive a 10,000-chip stack, courtesy of Acropolis—no buy-in required. The rewards, however, are very real. The ultimate champion will walk away with JMD $100,000 while the second and third place finishers will win $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
Tulloch added, “This tournament is just the beginning. Poker fans will be happy to know they don’t have to just watch from the sidelines. At the end of this invitational tournament, Acropolis is also launching weekly poker tournaments every Monday and Tuesday from 4 PM to 10 PM, giving everyday players a taste of the competitive thrill.” Located in Barbican Centre, Acropolis Gaming Lounge has long been a home for gaming excitement in Jamaica. This poker tournament comes on the heels of a multi-million dollar transformation of the Acropolis Gaming Lounge unveiled in December last year. The extensive renovation introduced over 40 state-of-the-art gaming machines, expanding the venue’s capacity to accommodate more than 220 players simultaneously.
