SVL PRODUCES JAMAICA’S FIRST ONLINE MILLIONAIRE – $259M WON ON SV GAMES APP

Supreme Ventures has created history in the gaming industry once again – producing Jamaica’s first online millionaire! SVL is celebrating its first Lotto winner on the SV Games App who won a whopping $259 Million.

The winner, A Rennalds says they have been playing Lotto since the start of the game over 20 years ago, but only hit gold, when they registered and played on the app.

With just a $100 bet, they won $259 Million with the lucky numbers 6, 10, 16, 30, 36 and 38.

Rennalds’ win may not be the largest in Supreme history with the heaviest jackpot being $395 Million in 2015, but it is the largest win ever scored on the app that was launched in October 2020.

CEO of Prime Sports (Jamaica) Limited, Xesus Johnston says this is a true Supreme win with the largest jackpots on offer in the industry and the convenience of placing bets online.

“Supreme is unmatched when it comes to the jackpots, Jamaicans can win when they play our games, we have the largest jackpots in the country and we have pushed SV Games to become the channel of choice for many persons. We want to expand  the customer experience by being not just the provider of the most fun games, but the easiest and most convenient gaming solution provider,” he said.

Rennalds, who says they usually purchases a physical ticket, started playing on the app in March.

“It has been much easier to buy on the app. I can buy more tickets, especially quite a few quick pick tickets. It’s very convenient because when a number pops up I can buy right away, no delay,” they said.

Rennalds said that while they have a set of numbers that have sentimental value, the winning numbers were a random set purchased on the app at their office as soon as they came to mind.

“The app has changed my gaming habits as it is very convenient. If you’re running late, you can just go on the app, don’t need to chase stores saves time,” Rennalds said.

Rennalds, who received news of the win through automated text message, is still absorbing the news.

“I got a text that I won a high tier prize on SV Games. When I saw that text, I said ‘yes, this is it’. I opened the app and found out I really won. And it wasn’t spam. I felt so excited! I’m still absorbing it now,” they said.

Rennalds who described life as “ok” before the big win says they can finally hang up their hat and retire as his dream of winning has finally come true.

“I play with the intention of winning. If you don’t have a ticket, you don’t have a chance so make sure you always have a ticket,” he said.

Persons 18 and over can download the app from supremegames.com and register their account. Customers that opt for Digital transactions will have their accounts verified online and Customers that opt for Cash Transactions can verify their account at any of the listed locations using a valid government issued ID. The app can be used on Android, iOS and Windows devices.

SVL, Carreras partner on micro sales network

Neville Graham – Jamaica Gleaner – October 1, 2021

Gaming and entertainment company Supreme Ventures Limited is partnering with cigarette distributor Carreras Limited to push their products through a network of micro-entrepreneurs.

The two publicly listed companies will be pumping in upwards of US$600,000 ($90 million) into outfitting special kiosks and developing sales networks for their products, they announced at a signing ceremony.

The partnership will cover SVL’s company-owned and third-party retail stores, as well as its newest sales channel, Supa Sellaz. And Carreras expects its 6,000 cigarette vendors to participate, according to Managing Director Raoul Glynn.

“When we see the Supa Sellaz on the streets, knowing that they have the full suite of products from Supreme Ventures but also the key brands that we have from Carreras, it creates an opportunity for legal employment, but also critical tax revenue,” Glynn said.

Xesus Johnston, CEO of SVL lottery subsidiary Prime Sports, says the agreement should lead to new job creation, while opening channels for both companies to drive up revenue.

“The impact that you will see is that a number of micro-entrepreneurs such as our Supa Sellaz, who were only selling games, will now be able to have the range of Carreras products,” Johnston said.

SVL began rolling out its Supa Sellaz concept in November 2020 to counter increased competition from illegal lotto vendors and the entrance of two new licensed players, Izizzi and Lucky Play. SVL Chairman Gary Peart said at the lottery company’s annual meeting in September that they hold 99.5 per cent of the legal gaming market.

SVL is banking on increased payouts and the popularity of games such as ‘Money Train’ to maintain, and possibly extend, its market edge amid the new rivalry.

In addition to the 6,000 cigarette vendors from Carreras, tobacco boss Glynn said it was likely that another 1,500 sellers would be deployed in the inner-city areas.

“This move will provide more jobs as persons will have to be enrolled to manage the kiosks, while providing retailers with the ability to generate more revenue by offering Carreras products alongside their SVL gaming solutions,” he said.

Johnston said that Carreras and SVL representatives have already engaged retailers who customers can expect to start interacting with this month, and that the state-of-the-art kiosks will begin to pop up in November.

SVL players cash out $51.7 billion in 2020

Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) customers cashed out heavily in 2020 winning over $51.7 billion across all gaming products of the group.

The announcement was made by SVL Executive Chairman Gary Peart during the company’s recent 15th Annual General Meeting at AC Hotel.

The total winnings was a $932.4 million increase over 2019’s disbursements to players of SVL’s broad gaming suite which include number games, sports betting and other solutions.

Peart said it’s major jackpot games, Lotto and Super Lotto created six multi-millionaires during the year.

“Six players walked away with huge jackpot wins amounting to $864.4 million! One of those winners won a Super Lotto jackpot of $301.5 million,” he said.

Additionally, Chairman Peart said SVL achieved record-breaking gross ticket sales at $76.3 billion, a $4.3 billion increase over the previous year. He added that this represented 336 million individual ticket sales to lucky Jamaicans for 2020, Cash Pot being the lion’s share of ticket sales.

Peart said the ticket sales was a testament to the company’s stature in the gaming sector and that despite the entrance of two players in the first quarter of 2021, SVL has retained 99.5 per cent market share nine months later.

Net profit for the Group remained flat, coming in at $2.4 billion. Gaming Income increased by $843.9 million or two per cent and EBITDA increased by 14.3 per cent to $4.6 billion.

Peart says despite the challenges COVID-19 posed in 2020, SVL shareholders still reaped the rewards and the company continued to pull investors on the stock market.

“Earnings per share of 90.15 cents allowed shareholders to receive dividends of 80 cents for the 2020 financial year,” he explained.

SVL’s shareholders increased from 5,343 at the end of 2019 to 6,442 in 2020, an increase of 20 per cent and total shareholders’ equity as at December 2020 stood at $6 billion, representing an increase of $1.9 billion or 46.9 per cent when compared to the same period last year.

SVL paid out $1.9 billion in total dividends in 2020 versus $2.1 billion in 2019, representing a dividend yield of 4.1 per cent.

Four shortlisted for SVF 'Supreme Hero' prize

The Supreme Ventures Foundation (SVF), the outreach arm of gaming group Supreme Ventures Limited, has shortlisted four entities for the top prize in the first staging of its Supreme Heroes programme.

The programme, which began in 2020, is focused on enhancing small community enterprises that not only generate economic activity in their area but assist the needy from their pockets.

Members of the public have until tomorrow September 17, to vote for their favourite on the Supreme Ventures Foundation website https://sv-foundation.com.

The programme kicked off with four heroes who were nominated by the public: Life Yard Restaurant and Eco-Tourism in Parade Gardens Kingston; New Horizons Christian Outreach in Spanish Town; Miss T’s Hardware run by Elma Thompson in Granville, St James and Miss Jenny’s Cornershop operated by Jennifer Brown in Norwood, St James.

Jamaica will have the chance to review their stories on the SVF social media pages on Instagram and Facebook and cast their vote on the SVF website for the most impactful Supreme Hero who will receive another grant from the foundation.

For the programme, each Hero developed a community project and received funding and support from the SVF to execute it.

They also received several weeks of capacity-building training from the Mona Entrepreneurial and Commercialization Centre (MECC) of the Mona School of Business Studies. They were provided with laptops to access virtual classes on taxation, copyright, marketing and other critical aspects of business operations.

SVF director Heather Goldson says the foundation is seeking to choose the best-performing project from the inaugural cohort to further award them a grant to pump into their social enterprises.

“All of our heroes have performed phenomenally. As with the entire country they faced very challenging circumstances given the impact of COVID-19 and some even suffered personal setbacks; however, they managed to regroup and complete their projects on time, making the best of the training we provided through MECC.

“This is the final stage of the programme and we are excited to see the continuation of the great work being done with this larger grant that one special hero is going to be awarded. Their communities stand to benefit significantly, and the Supreme Ventures Foundation is very pleased to have been able to make this investment and support these community stalwarts,” said Goldson.

The awarding of the grant will be based on several factors including the impact of their selected project and the heroes’ incorporation of the lessons learned into their enterprises.
