SUPREME VENTURES FOUNDATION DELIVERS THE GIFT OF SAFETY TO MATTHEW 25:40 WITH DONATION OF FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
Kingston, Jamaica – The residents and caregivers at the Mustard Seed Community Matthew25:40 are feeling safer after the official handover of a state-of-the-art fire alarm and detection system donated by the Supreme Ventures Foundation.
The handover ceremony, held on December 16 marked a significant milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing project to equip children’s homes across the island with similar systems. Since 2019, fifty homes have received fire alarm systems courtesy of the Supreme Ventures Foundation.
“When we started on this journey in 2019, our main objective was to improve the well-being of children in State care by improving fire safety preparedness in homes. With the support of the Jamaica Fire Brigade and our partners T&D Safety Consultants, we’ve been able to equip 50 homes run by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) and so we’ve achieved our initial target,” said Chloleen Daley-Muschett, Corporate Communication and PR Manager at Supreme Ventures Limited. “Doing this handover to Matthew 25 during the yuletide season feels extra special as this time of year there is usually an increased risk of fires. We’re very pleased to be giving the gift of safety to these young men and the administrative staff.”
In addition to the handover of the fire safety equipment and training conducted by the Jamaica Fire Brigade, the wards at the Mustard Seed Community were treated to a festive lunch and Christmas gifts including department store vouchers, mobile phones and other electronic devices. This initiative aligns with the Foundation’s broader mission to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
“We understand the challenges faced by these young men in transitional living, and it is our hope that these gifts not only help to lift their spirits during the festive season but also support with making their entry into the world of work a bit smoother,” added Daley-Muschett.
In 2019 The Supreme Ventures Foundation signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Youth & Information for the upgrading of fire safety equipment in children’s homes across the island. The programme was launched by the foundation approximately one year to the date of the tragic fire at Walker’s Place of Safety that claimed the lives of two children.
Supreme Ventures Foundation's gives gift of flight to children in State care
MORE than 80 children in the care of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) were recently taken on a sky-bound journey in an extraordinary Christmas celebration orchestrated by the Supreme Ventures Foundation.
With eager faces, filled with anticipation and wonder, the children, hailing from various CPFSA homes such as Homestead, Wortley Homes, The Nest, Annie Dawson Sunbeam, SOS, Yadel, and St Andrew Hostel, embarked on a chartered flight from Montego Bay back to Kingston capping a fun-filled and unforgettable day in the western city.
For many of these children, this was not merely a flight; it was a breathtaking adventure that is sure to leave an indelible mark on their young hearts.
The day unfolded with travel by bus to Montego Bay for a luncheon at the Grand View Hotel, where the children, accompanied by 16 devoted caregivers were not just fed but were nourished with the spirit of joy and camaraderie. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Santa appeared, laden with gifts.
The climax of this heart-warming tale was the chartered flight back to Kingston.
Caribbean Airlines, joining hands with the foundation, ensured that the process was not just a formality but an enlightening journey.
Every step, from check-in to boarding, was a revelation for these children, who, for the first time, were flying on an aircraft.
Chloleen Daley-Muschett, the corporate communications and public relations manager of Supreme Ventures Limited, reflected on the initiative, stating, “Our annual Christmas activity is something we look forward to each year. This year we wanted to go beyond the routine Christmas celebrations by creating an experience to broaden their horizons and let these children know that the sky is not the limit.
“The Dream Supreme experience is not just a theme; it is a reality we have dared to create. With this initiative we hope to inspire these children that no dream is too far-fetched or too big and that despite their current circumstances their future can be extraordinary.”
According to Daley-Muschett, in alignment with the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which identifies the family as the bedrock for a child’s growth and well-being, the Supreme Ventures Foundation has endeavoured to be more than a benevolent force.
She noted that the foundation has become a beacon of familial warmth, renewal, and care, creating an environment where these children feel not just seen but truly embraced.
“With the smiles, and laughter dispersed by the children during this journey, we are reminded that this initiative is not just a Christmas treat. It is a manifestation of the Supreme Ventures Foundation’s commitment to shaping destinies, uplifting communities, and giving every child the wings they need to soar,” added Daley-Muschett.
At the same time, Laurette Adams-Thomas, CEO of the CPFSA, expressed her gratitude to the Supreme Ventures Foundation for its holiday treat.
“The Supreme Ventures Foundation has been a valued supporter of children in State care for a number of years and we are grateful for the numerous ways in which they have shown love and care to our children, whether through financial support, educational support or through meaningful treats like this,” said Adams-Thomas
“Christmas is a time to spread joy and cheer, especially to children, and having a treat like this – carrying the children to our second city, feting them for the day and then flying them back in style, is something that has impacted them in a way that they won’t soon forget. We are grateful to the foundation for providing this memorable experience for our children, and we are sure that this is one Christmas that they will look back at when they are older and be filled again with joy/glee,” she added.
Her sentiments were endorsed by one of the children who participated in the treat.
“I never imagined receiving such a wonderful gift. Thank you, Supreme Ventures Foundation, for making this day not just special but the best day of my life,” said one of the children, whose name we are not allowed to publish.

Remittance market heats up
David Rose – Jamaica Observer – November 10, 2023
The multi-billion-dollar remittance market has heated up even further as Supreme Ventures Fintech Limited (SVFT) becomes the ninth company to receive a primary agent licence from the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ).
Supreme Ventures Fintech’s entry comes against the backdrop of parent Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) deepening its business reach into financial services from microcredit to bill payments. There are eight other primary agents with TFOB (2021) Limited, which operates the Lynk mobile application, being the last to receive a licence in November 2022.
A remittance is usually defined as money sent from someone such as family and friends from another country to the home country. These funds are used for a variety of reasons from paying bills to developing personal projects.
“Supreme Ventures Fintech is ready to redefine convenience and access to financial services. Through the introduction of Evolve Pay, our bill payment service, Evolve Money Transfer and other products in the pipeline, we will empower individuals, businesses and communities with greater access to retail financial services and wealth creation opportunities. We’re very excited about our entry into bill payment and remittances and are targeting rapid growth in the space,” said SVFT’s Chief Innovation Officer Delroy Anderson in a press release.
Supreme Ventures Fintech has forged its partnership with Ria Money Transfer under the Evolve Money transfer brand. Ria was introduced to Jamaica in March 2019 through Lasco Financial Services Limited which also has Boss Revolution and MoneyGram as its global remittance partners.
SVL has more than 1,300 retail agent locations under its belt across Jamaica ranging from corner shops to gas stations which sell SVL’s products to the public on their behalf. These agents earn a commission relative to the value of products sold at their location. All retail agents of lottery operators are required to be deemed ‘fit and proper’ by the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.
With respect to remittances or other money services, sub-agents who offer the relevant service on behalf of primary agents typically receive a commission for each transaction processed through their respective location under a sub-agency agreement. Sub-agents are required to also meet the ‘fit and proper’ criteria set out by the BOJ’s guidelines.
Thus, Supreme Ventures Fintech would be able to leverage the broad reach of its retail network to process these remittances once the sub-agents are approved by the BOJ. GraceKennedy Remittance Services Limited currently has the largest presence with the GraceKennedy Money Services (GMKS) network having 300 locations across Jamaica. GK is the exclusive agent of Western Union in several countries.
