Regional gaming and lottery company, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), has formally taken control of Champion Gaming Limited having completed its acquisition of the Jamaican-based gaming company.
Champion Gaming Company Limited is a Jamaican-owed company, which has more than 1,200 machines in the Route Video Lounge Terminal (VLT — slot machines) business in Jamaica. It commands about 15 per cent of the slot machines market operating in the island.
With this acquisition SVL has increased its foothold of the slot machine market in Jamaica and it represents the latest addition to its regional expansion programme.
Supreme Ventures said the acquisition is in keeping with its strategy to expand into new and existing market segments and product streams. In addition, the acquisition, will also enable better partnerships with small business owners who benefit significantly from the slot machine industry, providing a partnership with a stronger entity, and enabling better representation of their interests at the regulatory table.
SVL acquired Champion Gaming through its wholly owned subsidiary, Bingo Investments Limited. The board of Bingo announced last Friday that the acquisition, which was initially announced on December 20 last year, has been completed.
SVL has announced the appointment of one of its directors, Damian Chin-You, to chair the board of Bingo.
Also appointed to the board of Bingo are Ann-Dawn Young Sang, president and chief executive officer (CEO) at SVL, and Xesus Johnston, co-CEO of Prime Sports (Jamaica) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of SVL. The other individual appointed to the board of Bingo is attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson.
Young Sang pointed out that with this acquisition, the company will be able to achieve greater economies of scale, leverage its synergies, and solidify its market position while expanding its product base in the gaming slots industry.
This investment in the Jamaican market by a Jamaican company, she said, shows the organisation’s confidence in the economy and cements the viability and strength of the market for further investments.
“We continue to execute on our growth and expansion strategy, which creates value for our employees, our over 5,000 shareholders, and our main partner, the Government,” Young Sang explained.
She emphasised that the strengthening of the partnership between SVL and the Government is essential to the sustained growth and development of the country’s economy, as SVL is one of the country’s largest tax contributors.

Sports fans on Just Bet, a fixed odds betting network operated by Supreme Ventures Ltd (SVL) in Jamaica, are now enjoying greater options for sports betting after the implementation of an innovative sports betting platform from Altenar in December of last year.
The new platform is equipped with all the latest technological industry advancements to provide an enhanced betting experience, both in store and for mobile betting.
SVL’s CEO of Gaming Operations Xesus Johnston touted the benefits of this new system. “Just Bet customers now have access to new betting options for virtual betting and the addition of football, basketball and tennis on our mobile site,” he explained.
“No other gaming provider in the region offers this online. Meanwhile, we have added more sports to our pre-match and live betting selection. This includes NCAA basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, esports – all offered with more favourable odds for the customer.
“With our focus on making it easier to place bets, we have also eliminated bet slips in stores so customers can easily book a bet on your mobile device and pay in store.”
SVL ended a near 10-year deal with Intralot, Just Bet’s launch partner back in 2010, to switch to the Altenar platform.
Johnston noted that Altenar is a key part of its “medium to long term strategy to more effectively use technology to advance operations, taking the company to the next level and attaining the number one position in sports betting for the region”.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Thirteen days into the New Year, E Byfield came forward as the last Super Lotto winner of the decade claiming the $152.4 million that was won from a $200 ticket.
The winning numbers were 5, 6, 7, 19, 20 and super ball 4 with the golden ticket purchased on New Year’s Eve, last year at JJ Mobile Phone & Company in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) has reported.
According to SVL, E Byfield said that the numbers were chosen by a good friend who came up with the winning set randomly then sent them to him after he asked for a lucky suggestion.
Asked why he continued to play Super Lotto, Byfield responded, “to win! Mi always believe seh mi ago win. Mi mus catch a draw one day.”
Byfield said it was his friend who happened to check the results App on New Year’s Day and contacted him right away after finding out that the numbers had in fact hit the jackpot.
“Mi jus tek up the ticket and look pon it. Mi jus try fi stay calm, just calm,” he was reported as saying.
He explained that his ultimate dream is to purchase a house and to invest in business ventures, and with his newfound fortune, he hopes to make these dreams a reality.
Meanwhile, SVL Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Sponsorships, Gail Abrahams, expressed her excitement for the winner.
“We are overjoyed that the last Super Lotto winner for 2019 ended the year on a perfect note. As one of two major jackpot winners, E Byfield will now realize his dreams and become a member of the millionaire club. This is what Supreme Ventures is about “making winners every day,” she noted.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A Jamaican has won the last Super Lotto jackpot for 2019.  The final draw for 2019 for the jackpot of $254 million was hit on Tuesday, December 31,Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) has reported.
The winning numbers were 05, 06, 07, 19 and 20 with super ball 04. The lucky ticket valued at $200 entitles the winner to $152.4 million of the overall jackpot of $254 million. A $300 ticket would have entitled the winner to the entire jackpot, SVL said.
This was the second Super Lotto win for 2019.  The previous winner from Barbados, walked away with J$283.5 million or equivalent of B$4.37 million.
In Jamaica the lucky ticket was purchased at JJ Mobile Phone & Company in Spanish Town, St Catherine. This is the second winning lottery ticket purchased in Spanish Town in seven weeks; the previous winner from the parish won the $45 million Lotto jackpot, SVL said.
“This win could not have been more serendipitous. We have had three major jackpot winners in the past three months and this win on the last day of 2019 is an amazing end to a fantastic year. We hope the winner will come forward quickly so they can start the New Year with their super jackpot,” Supreme Ventures Group, Vice President, Marketing, Communication and Sponsorship, Gail Abrahams, said.
The Super Lotto winner will have 90 days to come forward with the winning ticket in order to begin the process to claim their multimillion-dollar jackpot.
The next Super Lotto draw on Friday, January 3 started at $197 million.
The Super Lotto game, which began in August 2009, is the first of its kind in the Caribbean and Latin America where gamers play for a jackpot that starts at over US$1 million with a live draw that is broadcast simultaneously in Jamaica, Barbados, St Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, St Maarten, the US Virgin Islands and Paraguay.

MORE than 100 children in State care were treated to a Christmas-themed afternoon at the movies, courtesy of Supreme Ventures Foundation (SVF) last week.
Children from Homestead Place of Safety, Jamaica National Children’s Home and SOS Children’s Village, all located in Stony Hill, St Andrew, were invited to the million-dollar event at Palace Cineplex at Sovereign Centre, that included popcorn, other snacks, plus a visit from “Santa Claus”.
Santa was played by Supreme draw talent, D’Andra Collinder, who donned the bright red suit and jolly strap-on belly to complete her look.
Co-CEO of Shared Services for Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), Dennis Chung, who attended the treat with a cadre of staff volunteers, said the invited homes were also part of the SVF Fire Safety programme for State-run facilities.
SVF and the Ministry of Education signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)at the start of 2019 for the upgrading of fire alarm systems in more than 30 homes across the island over two years.
The programme was inspired by a spate of children’s homes fires, some of which claimed the lives of young wards.
“These homes were not randomly selected; they are part of our fire safety programme. The Homestead facility has already been outfitted with a new fire alarm system, valued at more than $2 million, while the other two are on the list to be addressed in the new year. Fire safety and preparedness is a vital focus for the foundation over the next two years and we are committed to seeing that mandate come to completion,” said Chung.
He added that the treat was an extension of the SVF’s involvement with the homes and provided much-needed contact time between SVL staff and the wards.
“We have a strong volunteer spirit at Supreme and our staff takes advantage of any opportunity to contribute to the community, Supreme being primarily a community-focused brand. It allows us to connect with each of the wards who have, or will benefit, from our efforts under the fire MOU on a more personal level,” said Chung.
CEO of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency Rosalie Gage-Grey thanked SVF for helping the children create holiday memories.
“We are grateful for the continued partnership with the Supreme Ventures Foundation with which we share a common vision of a safe and nurturing society for children. For our children, this annual treat is an anticipated event, as each year they look forward to a different experience yet always an exciting time,” said Gage-Grey.
The Palace Cineplex treat was the Kingston leg of the movie magic. Team Supreme also journeyed to Montego Bay at the Palace Multiplex in Fairview, where they watched Frozen 2 with 100 children from the SOS Children’s Village in Barrett Town, Melody House for Girls and the Blossom Gardens Children’s Home.
The SVF selected children in State care as their immediate focus given the Group’s years of investment and interaction with wards of the State, chiefly the annual Christmas treat and the Easter Egg Hunt that has benefited more than 1,400 wards since its inception in 2011.
